ECM teams salivate over $1b-plus Auckland Airport block trade
Unlisted airports have been the gift that keeps on giving for dealmakers, but let’s not forget the dual-listed Auckland International Airport where the Auckland Council still needs to cash out its leftover $1.1 billion stake.
Sources told Street Talk investment banks are preparing for the council to pull the trigger on the mooted selldown of its 11.03 per cent stake in the Auckland Airport as early as this week. The council is holding on to 163.2 million shares, after offloading $NZ800 million ($735 million) worth of stock in August 2023.
