Scarcity Partners, the firm set up by former Pinnacle Investment Management executives that scoops up minority stakes in fund managers, is getting into the venture capital game.

Street Talk can reveal the Adrian Whittingham-led group has taken a 20 per cent stake in $500 million Singapore-based January Capital, investing alongside its founders. The price was withheld, but Scarcity deals typically range from $10 million to $50 million.
