Who owns the world’s largest TV? It might be Kerry Stokes

The veteran media proprietor has a 30ft television set, which one person guessed was a record breaker.

Kerry Stokes dived into the media in the 1970s and ’80s, throwing sharp elbows with Rupert Murdoch, Frank Lowy and Kerry Packer in the mad rush to own TV stations. It wasn’t until much later that Stokes consolidated his Seven broadcast operations with The West Australian to form the current Seven West Media.

That’s to say this is a man who has been in the media longer than nearly any businessman in the country, bar Bruce Gordon. And both have an admirable commitment to the dwindling medium of broadcast TV. We just didn’t know how much.
