Time running out for Jayne Hrdlicka as queen of tennis

Succession questions hover over one of the crown jewels of Australian sport (and corporate hospitality).

The elephant in the room at an unofficial gathering of Tennis Australia directors last month was the future of chairwoman Jayne Hrdlicka.

Running tennis since 2017 has been the former Virgin CEO’s most treasured bailiwick. Her third three-year director term expires at the end of this year. To go again, she’ll need her fellow directors to enact a provision in the organisation’s constitution, or rally state-based member organisations to the cause.
