This month’s federal budget contained $48 million in funding for what Energy Minister Chris Bowen dubbed his “one-click switch” plan, under which the government flagged a “rapid” investigation into how mechanisms could be set up allowing customers to change energy plans with, well, one click. It’s hoped such friction-less shifting might encourage customers to shop around and find cheaper providers.
