For five years, ex-Victorian Property Council president and Salta Properties managing director Sam Tarascio (named for his Rich Lister father) has been in a fiendishly tricky political fight to redevelop Melbourne’s iconic Preston Markets. Heritage groups are predictably aghast at his plan to demolish the existing buildings and relocate the market to make way for 2200 apartments.
