The rise of exchange traded funds (ETFs) was always sold on the idea they would help retail investors track indices or commodities on a low-fee, set-and-forget basis.

So much for that. Market leader ETF Securities this month launched its Ultra Short Nasdaq 100 Hedge Fund (SNAS) and Ultra Long Nasdaq 100 Hedge Fund.
