A leaky selection process is over, and stevedore Paul Scurrah will succeed John Borghetti as chief executive of Virgin Australia next month.

Scurrah is a transport lifer, having worked at Qantas, Ansett and Flight Centre, before running Queensland Rail and port operator DP World Australia.
