NAB's Peeyush Gupta joins Peggy O'Neal on Queen's honour roll
Joe AstonColumnistIn Wednesday’s column we marvelled at the royal gong handed to National Australia Bank superannuation trustee Peggy O’Neal on the Queen’s Birthday, her autograph having been on documents (the ones agreeing to pay account holders cash interest well below the Reserve Bank’s official rate) provided by the bank to Kenneth Hayne’s royal commission.
Well it turns out another trustee escaped our notice, but not Her Majesty’s. An executive officer of Nulis Nominees at the time of the commission and the events covered by it, was Peeyush Gupta. He resigned in January, but on June 10 was made a Member of the Order of Australia “for significant services to business and to the community, through governance and philanthropic roles.” Governance indeed!
