Alas, like a modern-day William Bligh, Bounty chairman Robert Stewart lost the loyalty of his register, well over half of which made a point of voting against all four of the resolutions that would have allowed major shareholder Amaroo (linked to US coal entrepreneur Ernie Thrasher) to recapitalise the company through a convertible note.
