Despite a rough year, including an embarrassing sharemarket outage, the ASX's 2020 hasn't been all bad.

The market operator bent over backwards earlier in the year to change placement capacity rules to help cash-strapped companies raise more capital in the battle against COVID-19. And in the process helped itself to more fees.
