L1 sets fire to LIC trail, but Pinnacle, Morgans undeterred
Joe AstonColumnistWell, last week sure was a lively one for the Australian market's burgeoning band of Listed Investment Companies.
As mentioned on Friday, the Hearts and Minds LIC hit its $500 million fundraising target three days into a three-week roadshow, ahead of its November 22 listing (the conference of the same name is on November 16, this year in Melbourne's Hamer Hall). This concentrated fund, its 25-stock portfolio picked by Caledonia, Cooper Investors, Magellan, Paradice and Regal (and conference presenters such as Thorney and WAM) will charge no management or performance fees and will donate 1.5 per cent of its net tangible assets each year to medical research.
