The converse issue of whether men should be allowed into the nation’s women’s clubs, go figure, rarely raises its head. Still, for institutions that have for decades prided themselves as intensely private urban sanctuaries for Australia’s most influential and prominent blokes, the continued absence of the fairer sex is a source of embarrassment for their more, er, modern members. And the ones with impressive daughters.
