Tribe Global Ventures, the new VC shop founded by start-up guy Aaron Birkby, former Blue Sky Alternative Investments director Elaine Stead and entrepreneur Don McKenzie, funds local business-to-business firms eyeing expansion abroad.

The Brisbane-based venture capital fund (no, not that one!) was registered a year ago and in June dispatched itself to London to host a dinner with leaders and “connectors”, whatever that is, assisted by the West Australian government that funded travel for 10 local start-ups and a seat for Deputy Premier Roger Cook.
