Scotch Old Boys told to ‘be vigilant’ as school hacked

Old Collegians have been told by the current principal to be wary of suspicious emails. Via a mass email, of course.

You’d think charging students $45,000-plus annually to attend Scotch College would enable the Melbourne boys’ private school to invest in a decent cybersecurity system.

Yet it was hacked over the weekend. Principal Scott Marsh wrote to members of its Old Collegians association on Tuesday morning, saying an “unknown third party” had gained access to its IT system.
