Only six weeks ago, Canva’s extraordinary private market valuation was deflated from $US40 billion ($57 billion) to $US26 billion as its major shareholders, venture capital firms and superannuation funds, conducted necessary revaluations of their portfolios for their own investors.

Co-founder Cliff Obrecht couldn’t disguise his disdain for the cheap publicity generated by Canva’s $20 billion (paper) vaporisation.
