Four days before Mineral Resources founder Chris Ellison is expected to front irate shareholders at his company’s AGM (and one day before the deadline for proxy votes), Bell Potter’s Richard “Coppo” Coppleson greased up in the pages of this newspaper to say the company’s stock prospects make it “an absolute screamer”.

Coppo is a race caller. His daily Coppo Report is known as “Australia’s most loved sharemarket report” (by himself). He likes MinRes because he’s bullish on a long-term recovery in lithium prices. On Monday, it closed at $35.46. He wouldn’t be alone.
