A lawyer acting for ASIC in its interminable attempt to disqualify ex-Quintis boss Frank Wilson as a company director has flagged the possibility the case could be “stayed indefinitely”, unless the regulator is given leave to have a key American witness appear via video link.

As we noted about this time last year, the long-running litigation arising from the company’s spectacular 2018 collapse had been delayed by Justice John Jackson’s ruling that Texan-based ex-Quintis executive Paul Castella would be required to testify in person to afford Wilson a fair trial. Which these days is hard enough with interstate witnesses, let alone international ones.
