Stockland is tapping the growing demand for denser living with the construction of its first standalone townhouse project after moving away from high-density housing five years ago.

The country's biggest housing land developer is starting construction of 81 MPS Architects-designed townhouses in the Melbourne eastern suburb of Ivanhoe.
