Apple to open global flagship store at Melbourne's Federation Square
Melbourne's Federation Square will be home to Apple's "most significant store in the southern hemisphere" after the US tech giant struck a controversial deal with the Victorian government to build a two-storey building to open in time for Christmas trading in 2020.
The glass pavilion structure, designed by top UK architects Foster + Partners, is only the fifth global flagship store announced by Apple, alongside those in San Francisco, Chicago, Washington and Milan, where the emphasis is on eye-catching design and interactivity.
