Ardent Leisure's board has rebuffed last week's pitch by stakeholder Ariadne for board representation, calling the activist shareholder's criticisms selective, 'misleading' and a distraction.

Ardent chairman George Venardos said the argument of Ariadne - which with allied shareholders has a near 9.9 per cent stake in the troubled company - about Ardent's loss in share price value ignored the company's strong performance prior to the fatal October accident at its Dreamworld theme park, the country's worst in more than 35 years.
