The winter slowdown and school holidays auction numbers fell below 2000 for the second time since May, and the slowdown will continue as holidays start in NSW and ACT.

The preliminary auction clearance rate picked up to 74.7 per cent – the highest in three months – from the previous week’s preliminary 70 per cent figure, reflecting increases in the largest Sydney and Melbourne markets, however, as buyers competed for good-quality properties available.
