Student accommodation pioneers Craig Carracher and Stephen Gaitanos have joined the institutional investor push into rental housing after putting together a $1 billion-plus build-to-rent fund backed by major international equity partners.

The co-founders of Scape Australia, the country’s largest purpose-built student accommodation provider, will reveal details in the coming weeks of their “rent to live” fund and a goal of developing up to 15,000 rental apartments.
