Housing Minister Clare O’Neil has flagged relief for builders grappling with red tape after a week of consultations with industry, unions and governments aimed at lifting the country’s anaemic level of home building and easing the chronic housing shortage.

In an interview ahead of the federal government’s three-day productivity summit, O’Neil agreed with a key demand of builders and developers for more time to adjust to higher standards.
