Low-key mining technology entrepreneur Wayne Romer and his partner Rachel Uhlmann have emerged as the buyers of a $30 million resort-like retreat in Noosa, clocking the second-highest purchase in Queensland residential history.

The sale follows the $34 million record paid by mining magnate Gina Rinehart for a nearby Sunshine Beach oceanfront on Webb Road in 2021.
