AVJennings profit plunges 90pc as settlements stall

AVJennings managing director Peter Summers says "consumer confidence" rather than market fundamentals is to blame for the company posting its worst half-year results in six years.
Mr Summers, who celebrated 10 years at the helm of the 87-year-old Australian developer this month, described the market for land, apartment and townhouse sales as "pretty tough" with no sign of a turnaround in the short term.
