AMP Capital is preparing to divest a landmark Perth office tower for about $260 million as it battles to meet redemption requests in one of its funds and stave off a merger proposal for the wholesale vehicle from rival fund manager Dexus.

ASX-listed fund manager Primewest is completing exclusive due diligence on 140 St Georges Terrace and expected to proceed with the purchase of the 28-level A-grade building.
