Demand for office space in the Sydney central business district declined from 1.2 per cent to 1.1 per cent in the March quarter, according to the DEXUS Office Demand Barometer. Conditions were rated as “fair" over the quarter with a decline in business confidence in the finance, business and property sectors contributing to weaker levels of demand. DEXUS is optimistic about conditions improving in the medium term on the back of an improving corporate earnings cycle, low interest rates and a pick-up in outsourcing.
