Kangaroo Island timber bounces back with state approval process for wharf

The listed Kangaroo Island Plantation Timbers is set to announce its controversial Smith Bay Wharf proposal will be assessed under the major projects pathway following a declaration from the Deputy Premier of South Australia John Rau, giving the company greater certainty for the export of its timber.

The announcement has also led to the company signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Japan's Mitsui Bussan Woodchip Oceania giving the company exclusive access to the Kangaroo Island timber and locking in a secure supply contract.
