A second wave of COVID-19 cases in Melbourne has disrupted plans by Lendlease to divest two of its best shopping centres in the city as it rushes to raise capital to meet redemption requests in its funds management business.

Lendlease was readying two of its Victorian shopping malls, Craigieburn Central and CQ Square, for sale off-market only a fortnight ago, with selling agents already appointed, just as the pandemic in Melbourne escalated and the metro region was forced into lockdown.
