Pub fund targets $1b valuation after buying spree

The value of Hotel Property Investment’s pub portfolio is set to surge beyond $1 billion this financial year following a buying spree in partnership with its major tenant, private equity-backed Australian Venue Company.
The trust, which has almost all of its portfolio in mostly COVID-free Queensland, closed the gap on listed rival ALE after it snapped up nine venues over the 12 months to June 30 for a combined $96 million.
