COVID-19 has not killed off hot-desking, office bosses say

The pandemic may have halted hot-desking and employers’ efforts to save space by introducing shared facilities, but it has not disappeared forever, Charter Hall Group head David Harrison says.

COVID-19 has prompted change in the way tenants use offices – particularly by spreading desks to meet physical distancing requirements and reducing shared facilities – but in time, practices such as activity-based work (ABW), in which workers do not have their own assigned desk, would return, Mr Harrison said.
