Cbus Property reshapes Melbourne tower with solar-generating facade

Cbus Property has redesigned its already-approved $1 billion Bourke Street office tower in Melbourne, hoping that a building that generates its own electricity through the facade will prove more attractive to prospective tenants and their employees in a post-COVID environment.

The size and volume of the 48-level tower, which will offer 60,000 square metres of commercial office space, has not changed. But the rethink includes higher levels of environmentally sustainable design (ESD) and a configuration allowing tenants to take less core space and access more space outside their tenancies, Cbus Property chief executive Adrian Pozzo said.
