Retail billionaire Brett Blundy's Aventus Group has had the last laugh in a long-running leasing dispute with the founders of listed mall rival Home Consortium, after the large-format landlord successfully appealed against a decision that went against it in August last year.

The dispute related to Home Consortium's pre-IPO plans to sub-lease a former Masters Home Improvement warehouse within the Aventus-owned Cranbourne Home homemaker centre in Melbourne's south-east to Amart Furniture.
