Ariadne steps up Ardent fight, plans EGM to add four directors to board

Activist shareholder Ariadne has threatened to call a meeting of Ardent shareholders after the troubled leisure company rebuffed its efforts to install Gary Weiss and Kevin Seymour on the board.

Ariadne, which holds 9.9 per cent of the stock, on Tuesday sent Ardent chairman George Venardos notice of its intention to call an extraordinary general meeting to vote on appointing Dr Weiss and Mr Seymour, as well as two additional directors – US-based Carl Bradford Richmond and Australia-based Andrew Hedges.
