Ardent, Ariadne trade barbs over activist shareholder's bid to renew board

The battle for control of troubled Ardent Leisure became a public punch-up on Wednesday, with Ardent declaring new shareholder Ariadne to be "destabilising'', while Ariadne said Ardent's board was "in disarray".

A day after Ariadne upped its demand for board representation to four directors from two, Ardent, the owner of Dreamworld theme park, said it would consider any Ariadne nominations only after it had completed the process it already had under way to find one or two US-based directors.
