‘We can’t count on anything’: Libs end campaign stretched thin

NSW Liberals are frustrated that, despite an exhaustive election platform with a swath of big promises, no single message has cut through.

It was a peculiar start to the final day of the NSW Liberals’ campaign for a fourth term in power.

Premier Dominic Perrottet turned out in the Liberal heartland of Willoughby for a morning whistle-stop appearance alongside first-term MP Tim James, in Gladys Berejiklian’s former seat. Half an hour later, the premier was in the neighbouring Liberal-held seat of North Shore supporting under-threat MP Felicity Wilson on a pre-poll awash with teal corflutes backing Climate 200-backed challenger Helen Conway.
