Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has been accused of “turning a blind eye” to the CFMEU’s alleged criminality on taxpayer-funded worksites, as top union leaders Sally McManus and Zack Smith back the union’s ability to investigate itself.

Ms Allan pledged to suspend the CFMEU’s construction division and asked the federal government to cancel enterprise agreements on sites with signs of criminal activity, but denied that she had enabled the open secret of the union’s thuggery to flourish.
