The US alliance will underpin Australia's security for decades despite China likely overtaking the US as the world's largest economy, Defence Minister Kevin Andrews says.
Mr Andrews in a speech to be delivered to the American Chamber of Commerce in Canberra on Thursday will launch a spirited defence of the US alliance, and endorse the assertive role Washington is playing in the Asia Pacific region through its so-called rebalance despite tensions with China.
