Telstra has widened its campaign to overhaul industry regulation by calling on the Australian and New Zealand governments to discard their current telecommunications rules in favour of a single framework across both countries.

The company rebuked both governments yesterday for repeatedly avoiding putting telecommunications on the agenda of the Closer Economic Relations (CER) agreement between the two nations.
