Suburban Rail Loop to cost another $16b, Victorian budget office finds
Suburban Rail Loop Minister Danny Pearson has dismissed as “laughable” a report by the Victorian Parliamentary Budget Office that found the first two phases of the major project will cost $216.7 billion to build and operate.
SRL East and SRL North will cost an extra $9 billion to build and maintain and $7.5 billion to run over the next 50 years, according to the PBO’s report, which was commissioned by the state opposition and released this week.
