The outgoing managing director of embattled listed reinsurer New Cap Re, Mr Azmin Daya, said he believed the company would survive, despite widespread predictions of its demise.

Insurance analysts said on Friday Mr Daya's sudden resignation from the company on Thursday only added to the picture of a company in deep trouble.
