Philippines-based brewing group San Miguel Corporation is set to swallow Tasmanian-based brewing group J Boag & Son with an off-market takeover bid which values the target at about $92 million.

San Miguel said last night it would make a $1.65 per share bid for J Boag, which makes the big-selling James Boag Premium Lager.
