In the past six months, the share price of Quantum Energy has increased threefold from 4¢ in March to a high of 12¢ in August.

Like most companies, Quantum's share price has fallen in the past month, but management's announcement last week that the company had achieved earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of about $4.3 million in the first two months of 2008-09 excited the market. Quantum's share price increased from 7.2¢ to an intraday high of 11.5¢ on the day of the announcement.
