NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet has been forced to recommit to a $2 billion plan to raise the Warragamba Dam wall in the next term of government, after Treasurer Matt Kean cast doubt over the project in a debate where he revealed it wasn’t part of the government’s infrastructure plan.
The treasurer was accused of having a “black hole” in his budget during his first debate with opposition treasury spokesman Daniel Mookhey, where he revealed the government hadn’t allocated funds to begin the dam or a separate suburban road project in its next four-year infrastructure budget.
