Construction of Queensland’s mothballed $223 million Wellcamp quarantine facility should have been more carefully handled to ensure value for money, Auditor-General Brendan Worrall has found.
After a year-long investigation, Mr Worrall delivered his findings into the facility on Friday, finding that while there was uncertainty during the pandemic, alternatives such as home and hotel quarantine were available.
