Palaszczuk government's CleanCo to drive 50 per cent renewable target by 2030
The Queensland government will not release studies that claim a new renewable energy generation company, CleanCo, will save households $70 a year on their electricity bill, saying it could affect the new company's trading contracts.
The creation of the third state-owned electricity generation company – to accompany CS Energy and Stanwell Corporation – is aimed to counter claims by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission about the lack of competition in the generation sector in Queensland.
