Optus won the right to join a legal battle between Telstra and the competition watchdog yesterday and said it would buy more services from Telstra if prices were lower and "unacceptable conditions" removed.

Optus is one of several Telstra competitors that sought permission to join proceedings that Telstra has launched in the Australian Competition Tribunal, a judicial body governed by the Federal Court.
