NSW government to generate carbon credits through conservation

The NSW government will enter the booming carbon offset market with an ambitious new scheme inviting corporations to invest in the state’s conservation initiatives as a means to offset carbon emissions.
Telstra has struck an agreement with the government to invest in the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Trust, which pays private landowners who own natural or undeveloped habitat an annual income to protect the land.
