NSW faces $2b hole on roads as states fight infrastructure cuts

NSW has been left facing a $1.8 billion funding hole across a slew of desperately needed regional road projects and upgrades after the federal infrastructure funding shake-up that will force states to contribute at least half the cost of major projects.

State premiers and senior ministers spent Wednesday in talks with their federal counterparts laying out their infrastructure priorities, ahead of finding out a final list on Thursday of projects that will continue as planned and others that have their federal funding axed.
